Duties & Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain home security systems, including intrusion detection, fire alarms, CCTV, and access control systems.
- Run low voltage cabling, performing drilling, trenching, and aerial runs with precision and efficiency.
- Ensure all wiring, connections, and equipment installations meet customer and contractual requirements, paying meticulous attention to detail.
- Collaborate with the Installation Team Lead or Project Manager to schedule on-site work activities and ensure timely equipment delivery.
- Conduct thorough testing to ensure newly installed systems and components are fully operational and compliant with local, state, and federal codes, as well as legal and insurance requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with new system installations, ensuring proper functioning and client satisfaction.
- Maintain a professional image in personal appearance and vehicle presentation, representing the Next Electronic Systems brand with excellence.
- Execute work assignments in a safe manner, adhering to established safety protocols and guidelines.
- Foster strong customer relations, building trust and contributing to contract retention efforts.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in security products and technology.
- Attend and complete training programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- 1 or more years of experience in installing and/or servicing intrusion detection, fire alarm, access control, and CCTV security systems.
- 1 year of experience as a Security Technician I, demonstrating expertise in programming and troubleshooting these systems.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- A vocational/Technical Degree in electrical, security, or computer systems is preferred but not required.
- State of Texas Access Control and Alarm installer license required.
- Certifications in industry-leading security system brands such as Open Options, Brivo, Eagle Eye, Keri, Honeywell, and Milestone are highly preferred.
- Knowledge of fire alarm systems is a plus.
- Experience with IP video and IT is highly desired.
- Ability to climb ladders up to 24 ft. in height and lift items up to 50 pounds.
- Flexibility to work on-call on a rotational basis, covering after-hours and weekend emergency calls.
- Possession of a valid state driver’s license without restrictions.
