Installation Technician
Location: Austin, Texas
Description: The Installation Technician will provide hands-on support for the Lead Technician. They will not only help with installations, they will complete installations independently, as well.
Summary of Position: Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting various audio, video, and automation systems in residential and commercial settings. These systems may include home theaters, distributed audio systems, automation systems, security systems, and more.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist Lead Technician with installations.
- Lifting TVs, speakers, and other related equipment.
- Working on a ladder, in an attic, and outside (as needed).
- Collaborate with Lead Technician to troubleshoot AV and Home Automation as issues arise.
- Act as the liaison between the company and the client.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Typical Schedule 8 am – 5 pm Weekdays.
- Complete training for job proficiency as assigned.
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team, and be willing to stay up-to-date with the latest technological advancements in their field.
- Perform other duties as needed or assigned.
Qualifications:
Must have a desire to learn and be mechanically inclined, with strong verbal communication skills. Being detail-oriented and able to demonstrate and achieve timeline goals independently without being managed. Must have a solid understanding of electronic components and be able to read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics.
Additional Requirements:
• Flexibility to meet customer demands outside of normal working hours.
• Must be able to lift and carry 60lbs.
• May require standing or stooping for extended periods.
• Ability to work in tight spaces & at ladder height.
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and criminal background check.
Overall, a technician in residential audio video and automation must have a passion for technology and a desire to provide their clients with the best possible experience in their home or business.
